PRICE $495 per semester + $50 registration fee REGISTRATION & PAYMENT • $50 registration fee due at booking to secure your spot. • Full payment of the class fee is due by the first day of class. Online payment is available and preferred. • If paying with charter funds: register to hold your spot and use the charter promo code at checkout, then place an order with your charter. Proof of PO required by the first day of class. SEMESTER & SIGN-UP • This sign-up period is for the Fall semester. The class runs throughout the school year (two 15-week semesters). • You commit and pay one semester at a time by registering and paying the registration fee. The $50 registration fee is required each semester. GRADES Grades 3rd & Up TIME Tuesdays 11:15am-12:15pm 1 hour per week INSTRUCTOR Brittany Riedel COURSE DESCRIPTION Learn the step-by-step process of creating drawings and paintings using the time-tested methods of the masters. In this class, students will build a strong foundation in the fundamentals of art — including values, shading, and creating the illusion of three-dimensional form. You’ll explore a range of mediums such as graphite, charcoal, and gouache, while studying essential topics like color theory, perspective, composition, light logic, and shape design. Through a mix of guided projects and personal work, students will develop both technical skill and creative expression. This class is perfect for beginners eager to learn the fundamentals, as well as more experienced artists looking to refine their craft in a supportive, inspiring environment. MATERIALS • Materials are included in the class price. On the first day each student will receive a personal materials kit containing all supplies in an HAA tote bag. • Students should bring their kit to class each week. Please label supplies with the student’s name to avoid loss. CANCELLATION POLICY Registration fee is non refundable. Cancellations for classes may only be refunded as credit towards another class or workshop. Any issued credit must be used toward a class or workshop within 6 months of the original purchase date. After 6 months, any remaining credit will be forfeited.
