PERSONAL BACKGROUND
Shani is an emerging artist and educator passionate about creativity, self-expression, and experiential learning. Growing up in a homeschool environment that encouraged curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning helped cultivate her appreciation for individuality and creative exploration. As a former student of Chapman Hamborg, she developed her artistic skills while learning the value of both technique and personal expression. After graduating from high school, she spent the past year working with students at the Ohm Pi Nature Project in Nevada City, California, supporting hands-on learning and creative discovery. Shani enjoys helping young artists build confidence, develop skills, and discover their unique creative voices, and she is excited to begin her journey as an instructor with Hamborg Academy of Art.

TEACHING PHILOSPHY
I believe learning through art should encourage curiosity, creativity, and self-expression within a supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring new ideas. Through my experience working in a hands-on, nature-based learning setting, I have seen how creativity flourishes when students are given opportunities to experiment, ask questions, and discover their own interests.
My goal as an instructor is to create a welcoming space where students feel encouraged to build both artistic skills and confidence in themselves. I believe art is more than learning techniques — it is a way to connect, communicate, and see the world with curiosity and imagination.
