TEACHING PHILOSPHY
Why Learning with Maddison is Different
Maddison’s vision is to help heal humanity through Art and act as a guide by helping others express their own individuality. She believes having a strong sense of individualism allows one to take responsibility for themselves.
Although Maddison grew up creating art like most kids, she did not have the formal art foundations to develop confidence early on. She remembers looking at her drawings thinking, “I can’t draw.” Because of this, she understands that having the skills to understand form is vital for children and adults to feel good about themselves. She balances this with the importance of letting loose—creating a safe container to express feelings without the weight of perfectionism.
TEACHING APPROACH
Maddison's Teaching Method
Building Confidence – Helps students gain art skills to master form, allowing them to feel they have conquered something great.
Safe Expression – Creates a "safe container" for students to express unique perspectives and feelings without fear.
Overcoming Perfectionism – Teaches students to let loose and express themselves without the pressure of being perfect.
Individualism – Encourages a strong sense of individuality, helping students apply that confidence to their life journey.
