PRICE: $255 + $50 non-refundable registration fee *Price is for 8-weeks (second half of Spring semester) To simplify registration, full payment of the class fee is now required when booking to secure your place in the class. If paying with charter funds, please register to hold your spot, and use the charter promo code at checkout. Then place an order with your charter. Proof of PO required by the first week of class. Note: This sign up period is for the Spring semester. The class runs throughout the school year (two 15-week semesters). You commit and pay one semester at a time by signing up and paying the registration fee. (You will need to pay the registration fee each semester.) GRADES Grades TK-4th TIME Wednesdays 3:00pm-4:00pm 1 hour per week INSTRUCTOR Amy Maha COURSE DESCRIPTION In this course, students will build skills through different mediums within the elements of art (color, form, shape, scale, line, texture, value). We will explore with charcoal, graphite, watercolor and gouache (a mix between oil and watercolor) on heavyweight paper in our mixed media sketchbook. Students will exploring shapes (ex. circles vs inorganic circles), how form is built through shadows and highlights, shading with pencils/charcoal (cross hatching, stippling, and more)! We will also draw and paint a self portrait to learn more about form and ourselves. We will have so much fun in this class as we dive into different art mediums and skills! MATERIALS Supplies will be purchased by the student. You can purchase these supplies at Art Supply Warehouse, or from our amazon store front: Charcoal & graphite set Watercolor set 11x14 mixed media sketchbook CLASS DURATION Spring 2026 8-weeks (second half of Spring semester): March 18, 2026 - May 22, 2026 LOCATION HAA Studio: 8610 Hamilton Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92646 CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellations for classes may only be refunded as credit towards another class or workshop. Any issued credit must be used toward a class or workshop within 6 months of the original purchase date. After 6 months, any remaining credit will be forfeited.
