GRADES Teens & Adults TIME 5 days: July 20-24 9:00am-12:00pm INSTRUCTOR Chapman Hamborg COURSE DESCRIPTION Join us for a week of painting seascapes en plein air at picturesque beaches in Newport and Laguna. In this workshop, students will learn how to capture the light, color, and movement of the coast. Instructor Chapman Hamborg will guide students through a simple, step-by-step approach to painting outdoors. Along the way, we’ll cover how to choose strong compositions, make thumbnail sketches to plan a painting, and mix color to capture the unique atmosphere of the coastline. Students will also learn brushwork techniques that help bring texture, depth, and movement into their paintings. This workshop is open to both beginners and more experienced painters. Whether you’re new to oil painting or looking to improve your plein air skills, come spend the week painting the California coast with us. MATERIALS Materials can be purchased from Amazon or from Art Supply Warehouse. Any issued credit must be used toward a class or workshop within 6 months of the original purchase date. After 6 months, any remaining credit will be forfeited.
